Flowmaster catback exhaust 2.5"?or3"?
The other electric cutout company is McCord. Personally I would stay away from electric cutouts...all the ones I have heard about are failing one way or another.
If you want a decent system, consider getting the Hooker Aerochamber system or Flowmaster system, then get some stainless steel tips from Megs, Borla, or whoever...should still put you under $400. (Exhaust is about $250, tips are probably $100 for a pair)

Likie mentioned, and I agree, a flowmaster will outflow stock, but they are no where near the best. If you qant the best flow a dynomax bullet, ultraflow, or similar, that are 3" and straight through would outflow flowmaster any day. But are single outlet.
I saw magnaflow systems on ebay for 370.00, not sure if thats a good price or not, but they are stainless. I thought about picking one up, but I personally won';rt be modding my car much as its my driver, I have a few others cars for the strip. So I'm just buying a flowmaster 3" in/dual 2-1/2" outlets, the ones made for 93+ f-bodies.

Just to give you an idea. I have posted this before on other Flowmaster topics. Here are my best times with each catback.
Stock catback with CAI = 13.9 @ 98mph
Flowmaster catback with CAI = 13.9 @ 99mph
Loudmouth catback with CAI = 13.8 @ 101mph
Loudmouth catback, cutout, CAI = 13.6 @ 103mph
These were all during the summertime evening between 7-9pm. Will kinda give you an idea. Tons of others have posted results like this also on this board. Thats why everyone knows a Flowmaster muffler barely outflows the stock muffler. The main reason you gain just a tad from a Flowmaster catback is from moving up to 3in pipe instead of the stock 2.75in. There was a guy on her e before who actually dynoed 2rwhp less with a Flowmaster muffler on his stock i-pipe over the stock muffler. We got a demonstration Flowmaster muffler at work that has the side cut off of it so you can see the all the chambers inside. How do you think your gonna get flow from your exhaust hitting a wall shaped like a triangle. The first chamber that your exhaust gases hit when they enter the muffler looks like this (~~ being your exhaust gases) "~~>" . Maybe if the wall was like ~~< would flow better. Your best bet if you want flow and want a FLowmaster is to get a 2 chamber single in single out muffler.

In my opinion...bolt on a flowmaster for sound, because I think they sound bad ***, and then have a $30 cutout installed which will make up for the poor performance of the flowcrapper.

I decided i want to go with a hooker aerochamber, i was in the mcdonalds drive through when i seen this guy with a 93 t/a in front of me spin his tires in the rain and the exhaust sounded beautiful although he only had the aerochamber muffler,as i found out from him,, i was wanting to do a whole catback system, does anyone know if hooker makes a 3" dual outlet system? also i am still indifferent about what tips i want , i was looking at the double square borla tips or just some slash polished tips, what is the difference in sound? do the single round tips sound louder as opposed to dual square tips? is the noise inside the car affected at all??? thanks
Not sure about flowmaster vs stock flow numbers. I can, however, attest to this. My buddy installed a flowmaster muffler on his 95 Jeep Wrangler. He later spent 2 DAYS driving around in muffler deep snow. When he got home, he discovered that the moisture had eaten away a small hole in the bottom of his brand new flow. Had to take it back to the shop and have them patch it. Now, we do live in Oregon, where it always rains and your undercarriage is always wet. I'm going to hold out for a stainless steel catback.

From a fellow Ultraflow owner.
Thats exactly why I am using ultraflow bullets on mine, there can't be much that flows better, and for 35 bucks, can't go wrong! My setup is like a loudmouth, but no resonator up front, but has the bullets on the rear. I made a custom y at the bend before the muffler.
Hmmmm I have headers, no cat and a single outlet flowmaster on mine and I like it. The car sounds pretty bad ***. I still would like to see some CFM ratings of the diferent mufflers. I've seen ratings posted before for catalytic converters, I know someone has some for mufflers!!!! I'm not brand loyal though, if someone posts some numbers of flowmaster getting their *** kicked I'll just go buy a diferent muffler and have it welded to my I-pipe. The flowmaster 3" mandrel bent I-pipe is just fine
I hate to say it but I begining to think all of the badmouthing about Flowmasters is only wayward opinion from people who just don't like them.
There is no way that a Magnaflow can out flow a Flowmaster and there is no way that a flowmaster flows less than stock.
With how little the muffler is it is impossible, not to mention the Magnaflows have a large c-shaped baffle about 1 inch from the inlet.
All of the glasspack systems (loud mouth and dyno) can't be compared to the crossflows.
