Flowmaster catback exhaust 2.5"?or3"?

Im in the process of deciding what exhaust i should go with , i want to get the flowmaster american thunder system, there are 2 options either the 2.5" or 3" what i want to know is if there really is a big difference with that .5" ? do you get more horsepower? does it sound better? what are stock dimensions for a 93 z's exhaust? does the flowmaster come with 4" tips? the reason i ask is b/c its like a $100 difference between the two . any info would be great! thanks

You want to go with at least 3", BTW your stock system is 2.75" so 2.5 would be a decrease.

I have a 3" flowmaster catback on mine. It was on the car when I bought it. It does sound good at WOT, but under normal driving it is kinda quiet. But I don't have aftermarket headers either, I heard that will help with the sound.

I'd get a Flowmaster single 3" setup, and get another muffler to replace the Flowstrangler

I'm seeing the negative opinions about Flowmaster sound, but I've never seen any flow numbers that back those up. Does anyone have flow numbers that compare different systems?

In my opinion...bolt on a flowmaster for sound, because I think they sound bad ***, and then have a $30 cutout installed which will make up for the poor performance of the flowcrapper.

the only reason they make these flowmaster poorly flowing claims is either from jumping on the bandwagon or because they bought a different catback with a heavier price tag and would like to bash on people who bought a flowmaster catback because they paid less, have you noticed no one has ever posted factual information that demonstrates the crappiness of flowmaster?

My point exactly. I have never seen any concrete numbers posted here. I have flowed a Flowmaster system (not a Camaro part number) and found it to be quite low restriction, 3.2 in H2O at 700 SCFM, but I don't know how the OEM part compares to a Flowmaster replacement. If I get the opportunity (i.e. parts), I'll flow it and post.
