Flashing SES after plugs/wires changed
ok well I got a set of ramps, and then checked to see if any wires were touching the manifolds which they weren't.
Then I pushed all of the opti connections a little tighter and the plugs which I could reach without killing or burning myself.
Then I pulled both PCM fuses and took it for a spin, no SES anymore and runs MUCH SMOOTHER. Lets see if it stays that way, I sure hope so.

I think you have that backwards: driver's side top, passenger's side bottom.

Passenger side was from top, that was 1AM at night, under flashlight, no ramps around, but I was so mad at burnt wires and needed my car running good next morning, so I managed to change them all. I think, now I can do it without flashlight
I'm glad that problem is solved.
it's back
I don't understand, I didn't see any burned wires, all connections were snug, and it was fine for 400 miles, and then just now, bam, flashing SES. I didn't have it scanned, but I know its the same damn code. It's not running real smooth anymore and flashing SES.
I would say OPTI, but there were no issues with it whatsoever until I changed my plugs and wires and now it's doing this!
Someone please help with some ideas here, I'm about to blow this damn car up.

well, i figured it out, the #7 wire is burnt.
It was so far back I didnt bother feelng it last time, but it's been driving me nuts so I decided to give it everything i had this morning.
The big question is, where can you buy a single wire? And how did you guys route your #7 wire, the guy who did this for me didn't use the stock looms and they look like they may be broken.

Re: Flashing SES after plugs/wires changed
I just went through this with my '96, and was looking for the WTH thread.
I put a set of pacesetter longtubes on about 2 months ago.
That part went fine.
I put all new plugs and wires on at the same time. I routed all the wires nice and tight in the stock locations, or so I thought.
I was getting the multiple miss with the SES light flashing.
I put the nose up in the air and started looking. Turns out, like an idiot, I routed 2 of the passenger side wires around the one wire that is under the alternator. This pushed the one wire out far enough to fry on the underside of the header. The other wire got burned through by the alternator pulley.
I redid the whole passenger side with new wires to be safe. I also spastically made sure the wires were as tight as possible in the razor sharp tin stock locations that attach under the headers and to the block.
So far so good.
