fans won't turn on..

i got a 94 trans am.. and ever since i have owned it.. 5 months now.. the fans won't turn on.. i have replaced all the sensors, relays, the engine wiring harness and computer. the computer is reading the coolant temp cause i can read it through my scanner and it also shows that its sending power to the relays but the fans don't turn on.. either of them.. but i can make the fans work by using a jumper wire at the relay.

Does the temp gauge peg in the red? In stock form, the LT1s run pretty warm from the factory. http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#cooling

The PCM does not send power to the relays, but it does send a ground to operate them. Do they come on if you jumper the DLC?

I would double check the grounds and connectors for starters. Wiring faults can lead to excess current draw which will pop the fuse.

I had the same problem with the fuse to the fans always blown, 20 amp? It turned out to be a seized air pump, must be on the same curcuit. Just a heads up, that was my problem. I replaced the air pump, all is good. Hope this helps some.

Interesting. My fans never run. I recently deleted air and the pump was full of junk. Also my car never runs above about 185 w/160 thermo. Maybe I should check to see if they work.
