fan wont turn on

I dont know why my car is heating up so bad. When ever I sit in traffic, or idle, my car climbs to 240 or so, right up near the red line on the temp gauge, but my highspeed fans won't kick on. I replaced both of the Engine Temp Sensors but I'm still having this problem. I tried to reset the pcm by disconnecting the battery but nothing changed. Any sugestions?

I know the fans are getting power to them because if i disconnect the sensor that goes to the pcm and get the error code the fan turns on. All the fuses are good how do I check the relays?

Re: fan wont turn on

if you replaced both sensors and the fans aren't kicking on, BUT they do kick on when you disconnect the sensor then the relays are working. why the highs aren't kicking on, I couldn't tell you. i know the 94 fans use three relays to run the fans, but if one relay goes dead, it kind of kills the system.. about the only other info i could offer is to find someone w/ autotap type scanner and try to figure out why they aren't working. I know someone w/ a tech 2 can tell the ecm to turn the fans on, but only technicians have access to them.

good luck.
