Yes my Bro in law got to tour the facility during college (he is a mech engineer) He said they had a couple of LT5s on engine stands running for 24 hours a day at 4000 rpm or so. I can't remember how long he said they would run them like that and then tear them down.

Finally found the damn magazine. 12/04 issue of Chevy High Performance.

There are other small block articles in here. I'll try to scan them at work tomorrow.

EDIT: I must be dumb. The article I have is about an L99. Not a 302 LT1. I did scan it anyway (along with a few other articles of interest in this SBC 40th Anniversary issue.
