!evap

so..... when i was putting my motor together i was in such a rush that i completely forgot to put the evap stuff back on and when i took it to work to install the motor i did not have the evap stuff with me when i realized what i had done

so i just plugged the hose that comes to the engine compartment

my question is will i have any problems from not running said equipment, i have 250 miles on the build as of right now and i have no codes and no problems as of yet

Surprising its not setting codes for the missing EVAP solenoid and the missing vacuum detection switch. No other problems with the engine from removing EVAP, but it might tend to smell of fuel at the rear of the car. Make sure there is a vent to relieve pressure from the tank. Hopefully, you also put a vacuum cap on the nipple on the side of the throttle body.

What he said.

I started to delete my entire system when the vacuum line got clogged with charcoal, I decided to clean the line and replace the canister to avoid the gassy smell.

yeah i capped the throttle body, but i am also really suprised that it did not give me a code, i scanned it yesterday and all i got was an o2 sensor code

That is interesting. Is there any relationship between the evap system and the O2 system (i.e. wiring) that could cause this? I thought the ODII you have would set a DTC if you ran minus the evap system.

There is no wiring for the EVAP system that is common to the O2's.

That's strange. My car throws a code for evap since the vacuum detection sensor is missing. That code actually comes almost immediately, like within 10 minutes after a hard reset.

thats what i would have assumed, i planned on just driving it home with the light on and installing the evap crap there, but like i said before i currently have 260 miles on the build with no codes, weird to say the least, i even called the tuner to be sure he did not tune out the evap system the only thing i can think of is not enough drive cycles

Maybe he doesn't have enough "drive cycles" on it, with only 250 miles.
