I have a QTP electric cutout and mine is located right in front of the rear axle.
This way the cutout goes over speedbumps at the same rate the rear tires are traveling over the speedbumbs (no drag problem, this way) .
I also was not crazy about the toggle switch that came with the cutout so I went to my local parts store and purchased a (on-off-on) rocker swith that resembles a rear window switch for a 4Runner or K5 blazer. Just tape up the two leads at either end on the toggle switch ( this gives power for the red/green LED lights) the rest is copy from one switch to the other.
I have a 94 Z and it fit well under the ciglighter by cutting out the panel .cutout switch
I found on mine that if I get a little leak, all I need to do is bump the switch and it will close fine. The problem is when you release the switch, the plate that closes will back off just a tad. If you bump the switch when it is closed, it will insure a tight fit.
Just my .02 and hope this helps.
