Re: Dyno #'s after a CAM tune.
it was the tuners fault until he (the initial poster) just came out today and explained everything. going off of what he told us in the initial post, he laid down some pretty small numbers when everyone thought he should be seeing more. the only hindering factor was the cats. he never told us that he insisted the tuner continue to dynotune his car even though he apparently had bad cats. my comments were based on such...
again, read everything before you post. my opinions were based off of his initial post, not the later fact that they both knew of the bad cats yet still continued to tune.

Re: Dyno #'s after a CAM tune.
2 hours isnt a full tune. Every car I've seen in and out of Jeff's shop has been there at least almost four whole hours. 4 pulls is just icing on the cake. Obviously he should go back when the problem is fixed, what I'm getting at, is that you cant blame the tuner for the end user's problems. You pay for a service, and you pay up front. The service was rendered, if incomplete. The tuner has done his job to the best of his ability. Its not up to the end user to fix the problem, and get it finished.
Re: Dyno #'s after a CAM tune.
and if you read what Ive posted, I proclaimed 'no disrespect to the milkman,' but that doesnt change the fact that he can see higher numbers and shouldn't have to pay a dime in order to achieve his goal.
Re: Dyno #'s after a CAM tune.
Jeff is pretty damn aswesome when it comes to tuning. He'd bend over backwards making sure everyone left pleased. In fact, he broke his back while tuning mine - literally!
Friendly ribbing aside .... Granted yea the numbers are on the low side, but considering what issues the car had ~ still an improvement. Besides, you don't race dyno numbers. No one ever told my car it wasn't supposed to trap 111mph in 95* air w/ only 315rwhp.

Guess I don't see what the big deal here is
. Guy went in with a bad cat and told Jeff to go ahead with the tune. Jeff got him an extra 11rwhp despite having a restrictive/clogged cat which would definately affect power. Once he gets the cat fixed, the guy sends Jeff a couple logs and he gets an updated tune--well worth $400 in my book....
Personally, Jeff has done a great job on my car. During my rebuild, I've run accross several problems which have drastically affected performance (O2's, exhaust leaks, knock, improper lash). Each time, Jeff has has not only taken time to diagnose the problem, but has told me how to fix it. After each problem was fixed, I ran him some datamaster logs and he sent me a new tune in a week. I've dealt with a lot of people during my little "project" and no one has given me service comparable to Jeff

You Heard, everyone has heard.. and I believe it to be from people who are getting over charged for work and wanting to validate the money spent.
Reevaluate wether he is "the man" or not by the dyno sheets you have seen here.
I've been irratated with this since i saw some 18 year old kid leave his shop with a 13.9 AFR with probally over $400 less in his pocket

Re: Dyno #'s after a CAM tune.
I have heard goog things about the car sound cats and they are fairly cheap.
http://www.car-sound.com/
Unfortunatly they wont fit under a Corvette so I have to use either Random or Dyna tech (Also good cats but $$$)
