Dyno #'s after a CAM tune.

Just got a Dynotune by Jeff down at Carolina Auto Masters. The Z put down 311 rwhp and 333 rwtq. It had a Hypertech tune in it already (done by the previous owner) and it baselined at 300/319. Ill post the graph asap. The trip down was well worth it runs so much better now. Any suggestions or comments are welcomed. Time to go to the track!

What all do you mean by it runs better now? How much did he charge you and how long was your dyno session.

It looks like you don't have any headers. You need to slap some on. Then you should probably be in the 340 range.

Yeah when I edited my sig I forgot to put them back in. I have edelbrock shorties. And the car just feels better for some reason, maybe its the fact that I just spent $400 on a dyno tune? My session lasted about two hours four pulls total.

I know edelbrock shorties aren't the best headers, but i think you should be somewhere around at least 325-330 rwhp.

Yeah thats what I was thinking. One of my cats is failing so thats some reduction. Jeff said that all of the sensors were reading perfect. So I guess in the spring Ill get a LE2 head and cam combo, but thats after I do some other stuff.

at least get some mac mids. you're leaving power on the table with those shorties IMO.

seems a bit low to me too for a cammed 6 speed with RRs as well. My numbers in sig.

95 6 speed, no roller rockers, no cam. headers/CAI/cat/borla/PCM tuning/ few other small things

Reading this kind of stuff makes me want to finish my "project" so I can get it tuned by Jeff.... I have been gathering parts for too long . Congrats on the numbers, I agree some LT's would probably help.

What the heck?

Am I crazy? He charged you $400 for 4 pulls? and on top of that he only picked you up 11rwhp?

Why do people stand up for him so much? I guess they want to feel validated when they spend to much for a crappy tune.. I would wadger that MadZ28 or PCMforLESS could pick the car up even more on a $50 mail order tune.

And if something was wrong with the cats than why didn't he fix it, tell you to go home and fix it or something else.. Real classy to keep trying to tune away..

come threw with the extra pony's.. jeez give me a break 11? when the car is supposed to be in the 330's.

Re: Dyno #'s after a CAM tune.

good point. I'd be slightly pissed if I handed over $400 for a dynotune that only picked me up 11rwhp with 4 dyno pulls I'll be dropping $275 on a dynotune here in Texas and am hoping for somewhere closer to ~15-18rwhp and comparable torque, with more than 4 pulls considering I can get 3 with the a/f for $45.
