Doing plugs and wires
Doing plugs and wires
Well the time came where i need to do my plugs and wires but thankfully i have the opportunity to get access to a lift. i guess my main question is how much time do you think the lift will take away from doing the project. ive searched this before but the only thing i found was the time it takes people to do it in their driveway. i am yet to find someone that wrote about it that used a lift. this is also my first tiem doing them on an LT1 but i just wanted to know how much time i should put aside even with the access of a lift, Thanks
Re: Doing plugs and wires
I change the majority of my plugs from the top; wires will require access from both top and bottom. The biggest pain doing wires is routing them behind the power steering pump. Many people abandon the stock routing on the passanger side and route the wires below the power steering pump.
Re: Doing plugs and wires
get some band-aids, when i did my plugs / wires i did them with my headers, and the car was lifted a bit off the ground, with manifolds plugs are going to be a P.I.T.A. no matter what. but having a lift should be a bit better, Wires also will be a pain in the stock locations, over the valve wires are easier to install IMO. all in all the lift should make the job easier as for time taking away, it all depends how fast you work, but i know for me it would shave off a good 15- 20 min
