Does a big block hood serve as cowl hood also?
Are you talking cowl vs big block stinger hood. If you really want to let hot air out, remove the weather stripping on your hood. The origional idea of the cowl was to add clearance for the engine and to take the coldest air from by the windshelid in.
Not the insulation on the hood, removing that would be bad, and probably discolor your paint, on the edge of the car, where the hood meets, by the firewall, some people claim removing this weather stripping lets hot air escape, it also lets water in. I dont think either hood will really help evacuate the engine bay of hot heat soaked air, but i think a 3 or 4 inch cowl hood has the beeter chance.
