TR55IX's here with no issues at all. Pricey, but a hell of a lot better than the Bosch +4's I was running IMO.

I checked NGK Web pape

They only list one Plug. PZTR5A-15. They must feel selling a few 12.00 dollar plug beat selling 20,000 $2.00 Plugs

they are just showing the number that is the OE replacement and none of the alternatives that are available in their catalog.

I switched from the factory ACs shortly after I bought the car since I had heard that the pucks go fast. I switched to NGK TR55 VX (plats).

Question: If the TR55 is the correct plug and the VX has a better plat puck than the Factory ACs, how could these be bad?

I.e., what the heck is a double plat laser-cut plug?

Sorry for the terrible thread, I was just trying to share some of the information I had learned. I figured there was a good reason the updated NGK catalog only listen one plug and that the NGK rep said their other plugs had some issues with the LT1. The Summit rep even said to steer clear of the other plugs.

I am not saying that all the plugs suck or are faulty, but just simply passing on information I had retained about other plugs having "known issues" I am well aware that 99% of the plugs could work fine, but that for everyone's information there may be 1% floating around out there that could cause you problems.

I appologize to everyone for the appearant uselessness of this thread.

For anyone who still cares, one of my NGK's myseriously cracked, similar to a case I read a few pages back. I have since replaced them the stock AC Delco's. When I removed the stock plugs originally, all pucks were in place.

Again just trying to help, sorry.

Don't worry about it. This isn't a useless thread. These types of threads filter out rumors and such.

Don't stress it... Anyone that read this thread did it out of curiousity and could have stopped reading at any point.

I agree. and the crack on mine was in the inside porcelain. Like I said before all my other NGKs are fine and I replaced it with a brand new NGK. the fact still remains that as I read I am not the only one with the that problem. My point is "it does happen" It may be on a small quantity but it does happen.

Now why is it so hard for some people to accept that?

True story here.....
I replaced my Bosch Plats last month with TR55's and immediently noticed a rough idle. I was like WTF!. I started looking at all the usual stuff and eventually found the problem. My used 52MM TB came off a heads and cam car and the prev owner had plugged the IAC hole with a wood screw(dont ask..).
Put it all back together and I cant believe how well the car idles and accelerates. What im saying is that for over a year I had this "plugged" throttle body and it didnt manifest itself until I changed to NGK plugs...............and I thought the car ran fine with the times in my sig

I agree, just because not everyone experiences the same thing doesnt mean this is worthless, actually now when I change my plugs again I will be more aprehensive and inspect them better before install.

This is total crap..... I ran TR6s for 3 years with over 500 rwhp in my car, when I switched back to autolites for a few trips down the strip the only difference was the autolites melted quicker.
