Well I am double checking with the NGK tech Mon, but if you check their website http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/ and search for plugs on our cars, you'll find they only have one listed. The Laser Cut Platinum.

I have used them for 30k with no problems. The delcos are sh** IMO. There are literally thousands of people running NGKTR55 or TR6 with no problems whatsoever.

I don't think NGK has ever "technically" recommended the regular TR55. GM calls for a long-life plug, therefore NGK only recommends a long-life plug. That doesn't mean the copper TR55 is a bad plug, as evidenced by many users.

If you're hell bent finding a different plug, many on the vette forums have had good luck with AC Rapidfires (not to be confused with the AC Delco platinum junk from the factory). So you might wanna give that a shot.

What could a copper plug cause problems with?

My new NGK TR55's, gapped to 0.050" run good so far.

I've been using the $2 NGK TR55s at .050 for over two years now with no problems at all, in fact I cant beleive how good its running on them lately. I just matched my best time from last year again earlier today too on the same set of NGK plugs that were in there from last season. I'm not buying any plugs over $10 each again anytime soon

I have the Stock No. 3951 TR55's about to go in. Are these the ones that a mojority of the people here run? I'm pretty sure they are and I have heard nothing but good things about them.

Many sets of ordinary TR55's from the autoparts store have run through my car with no problem. I've also run TR6's as well without problem.

One of the first things I did was replace the AC Delco (tips fell off) with NGK Tr-55's (along with new wires) and still had a miss. One day I was screwing around and regapped my plugs to .50 (were at .58) and what do ya know no more miss. So just make sure they are gapped correctly and I dont think you will have any problems.

BTW....of course summit and NGK want you to buy their more expensive plugs becasue that = more money for them!!

Not necessarily, it may cost them more to make therefore they still make the same amount of money.

Just giving you a hard time....
