distributor wire

i need help and i need sum1 to answer me ASAP please i have an 94 LT1 engine i got a distributor from a 94 caprice with an LT1 motor when i put the water pump on with all the bolts screwed in, i can't put/fit the distributor spark plug wire in. the plug for the distributor is close to the water pump,it doesnt let me put the spark plug wire in.and i would like to kno y i cant get the wire in.or why doesnt it fit in.please anyone out there

I see one potential problem...a stock 94 Z has a non-vented opti. A stock 94 Caprice has a vented opti. How did you get the opti on there? The drives are totally different.

the distributor went on there perfect i didnt have a problem getting it on.

my mistake i have a 96 camaro LT1 motor i got the distributor from a caprice it was either a 95 or 96 cuz the part that inserts into the motor looks like a flower. but am i gonna have a problem with the wire touching the water pump, or will the wire get messed up from the pump getting hot cuz its close.or will the car start cuz i havent started up the motor yet i have a few more things to put on.

I see. You neglected to provide all the needed info.

I don't know why you would be having a clearance problem. I've never heard of such a thing. Maybe some pics would help in understanding.

I don't think it could get hot enough to bother it. All the wires are in a pretty hot place.
