Re: Disapointing Dyno Numbers

When I got dyno'd in june having just a cat back, cut out, intake and free/cheap mods i put down 258 hp. I added those parts that I listed earlier. I was expecting atleast 300hp, but i guess 11 shy of my goal isn't too bad.

The motor has a little less then 87k on it.
I have a stock MAF not a ported one. I just used Pamena for the dyno, PCMforless did the tune. AFR stayed at around 13.5 or so throughout all the pulls.

Roller rockers and valve springs along with a yank torque converter and Mickey Thompson ET streets are this winters projects. Mild cam will be thrown in, in the spring. Hoping for a mid-low 12 after that.

Thanks for all the replies.

Also, the first run was with the cut out closed, 2 others were with it open. Proof of a solid 10RWHP gain with the cut out.

Those are very good #'s through an auto. I would not be dissappointed at all.

Bubba,
here is mine on a mustang dyno with the full stock exhaust mods in my sig...
here is one with the cutout open...
We were not sure where to set the end of the run on the dyno computer so the full exhaust run was set to kill the run at 140 MPH, and then after seeing the results it bumped up to shut down at 145 MPH, and since I have 2.73 gears I should have told them to shut it down at 160, but I didn't know that at the time... I was just under 300 and I didn't even get a full run, this is why I thought Mustang's read higher...

I think those are some very respectable times through an auto and as few mods as you have....definately don't be disappointed.

You are a M6 thats why. Auto's dyno quite a bit lower due to the greater parasitic loss because of the automatic tranny.

289 RWHP for a bolt on automatic is very good. You are getting knock retard though.
Yep, you are always happy if you expect nothing and get more than you wanted, it's all mental. Overall it's not bad.
