damper problem

Just purchased ATI Super Damper 917268 for my 93 LT1 Camaro. The stock hub on my car does NOT have a key-way slot on it. It was just press fit and held with the damper bolt. The ATI damper has a key way in it to accept a key way. Do I need to get a key way and use it or just press it onto my crank snout just like my factory one??
Also, the damper tapered washer which will sit under the damper bolt head is pretty thick....should I only use the supplied ATI washer or use both the ATI washer and the stock thick washer?.

Thanks!

The 360* of timing marks on the ATI damper will be rendered useless if you don't use a key. What's the big deal about spending a buck or two on a key?

Why GM didn't put a key in the damn thing in the first place escapes me. Always use a key, or two.
