I dont know that we have a lot of options ??

I would have just ported the hell out of my stock lt1 heads.. otherwise you can get good numbers using lt4 heads.. of course it costs a lot more than the LT1 route.

Re: Cyl head HELP

There are three basic choices in LT1 heads. Ported stock castings (LT1 or LT4), the various flavors of AFR, or the new Edelbrock head. The Edelbrocks are somewhat of an unknown quantity. Even the small (190/195cc) AFR's have more potential than stock castings, but a well ported set of stockers and ported AFR 190/195cc heads are pretty close. The larger port AFR's have a lot more potential but can get quite pricey.

It is possible to convert gen I heads for reverse cooling, but then your LT1/4 intake won't work, etc. And it's not a DIY job for 99.9% of us. So not too many have done this AFAIK.

Too many variables. With a huge SR cam and high compression or what?

Re: Cyl head HELP

It will not be a huge SR cam(Street SR) high compression (12.1) max N/A pump gas only...

Just looking to see what diff heads do and how many of them could ft the LTX intake...

Re: Cyl head HELP

AFR220/227 for the LT1 will fit what you need and dont have to worry about converting them, and the intake bolts right up.
