crank hub question.

Will a crank hub off a 95 impala/fleetwood work on my car?
Its a 97 Firebird, and I am doing a double roller conversion.
Any advice is welcome.

Pretty sure the spacing (length) is different.

Just saw your post online from nearly 15 years ago (haha) about the difference between crank hubs. Did you ever by chance determine if there is indeed a difference between the Fleetwood LT1 crank hub length and the Camaro / Firebird LT1 link? I think I am having that issue right now as mine seems to stick out an extra quarter inch. Thank you VERY much. Jason

Re: crank hub question.

The 1/4” difference is often the result of the longer hub from a 93/94 F-Body (OBD-1, no crank sensor reluctor) and the 95-97 shorter hub (OBD-2, CKP reluctor sandwiched between the hub and the crank timing gear).

Have no idea if that is similar in the Fleetwood. But for example, the Corvette hubs are different than the F-Body.

The difference between the 2 hubs goes as follows, 93-95 is longer. 96-97 is shorter due to reluctor ring. Reluctor ring plus 96-97 hub is the same length as 93-95. If you're doing a double roller conversion you need the 93-95 hub due to removal of reluctor ring.

Re: crank hub question.

“Jason Paluszak” never came back to this site after his single post above. We both wasted our time trying to help.
