after i installed my new opti the car cranks up and runs good till i pump the gas pedal than it dies, when i took the intake elbow of during the replacement it became cracked prety bad around the lip, could this cause it to die or could it be the opti was installed wrong? ps- when the car is just idling it runs great with no misses thanks

Yes. If the air is entering the engine through the hole in the elbow, its bypassing the MAF sensor. Low MAF signal = low fuel to the engine = hard start. Did you possibly forget to reconnect the coolant temp sensor on the water pump housing? That would also cause a hard start.
