Could a bad starter cause code 16???

Could a bad starter cause a dtc code 16??? My car runs great - no problems with the performance. Just the intial start-up. After I relocated my battery - the car has a hard time starting up. My starter seemed weak before the relocation. Today my scanmaster showed code 16. Which is a iginition system low pulse. - Could a starter cause that code?

I don't see how. I would check your electrical connections to the opti.

A remote possibility..... if the starter was going bad, and pulling so much power on cranking that it pulled the system voltage down too low, it might affect the operation of the Opti optical sensor, due to inadequate voltage.

Its a stretch, but maybe possible???

I have a description and flowchart for troubleshooting that code. I can scan it and send it to you if you think it would help.

> could a new higher cranking battery help and/or solve his problem? providing all electrical connections are good.
