Code p0412

I have a 97 z28 Camaro. Was running fine. All of a sudden it started running rough upon acceleration .Hesitation really bad .code p0412 came up .which is secondary air injection system switching valve a circuit .Pevious owner removed air pump .I looked at fuse. And was good .but there is not an air pump relay in fuse box .any thoughts on why all of a sudden my car is acting up? Thanks in advance .

I'll move this to "LT1 Based Engine Tech" where you are more likely to get help. Podcast isn't the right place.

DTC P0412 is "AIR Relay Control Circuit", per the factory service manual. The diagnostic checks the AIR pump relay control circuit to see if the voltage matches the commanded state (on or off). If the relay is missing, the code will set. Replace the relay.

Do I have to clear the code? Or will it clear it self?

Re: Code p0412

It will eventually self-clear. If you don't have a 2-way scanner (read/clear), pull the "PCM BAT" fuse for 30 seconds.
