Code 29 air pump quit

Is there any way around running an air pump? Can you bypass it or fool the pcm that its working? It keeps blowing the fuse and turning the serv. engine light on.Thanks.

Unplug the harness connector from the AIR pump. Put a new fuse in. That will eliminate the DTC code and the SES light (OBD-I only).

I have a swapped LT1 in a Datsun and have a code 29, I have no air pump.
Where was this fuse located? I only kept the under hood fuse box and only use the injector and fan fuses there, is there a wire and Pin# on any of the 4 ECM connectors I should put a fuse on to get rid of this code? is this to ground or from a switched or non switched 12V?
Thanks,
Greg

The fuse is in the underhood panel. You not only need a fuse, but a good relay in there, too.

Dam! I think I deleted the wiring for that, I'll check tomorrow.
What pin/pins on what color ECM connector should I fuse if I did delete the wiring from the fuse block?
That might explain the always on SES light... Aside from the code 43 I also have to trace out.

Here is a diagram of how it is wired on 94-95s. I don't know what you used.

Thanks Shoebox, I was just at your site and pulled up the same diagram,
so on the Red "A" connector pin A14 is the ground side of the Air pump relay, couldn't I measure the impedance of the relay coil and substitute a resistor of the same value?
Or do think it is safer to just hang a fused relay? The relays have a diode across the coil on the inside?
Thinking ahead here, If I didn't remove the wiring all is good, I am sure I tossed the relay into my relay collection box and will simply find it and plug it and the fuse back in.
Thanks again,
You site has always helped my son and I out, I have the LT1 Datsun 280Z and he has a 95 Formula.

No wiring left in the fuse box for the air pump, any other ideas to trick the PCM to clear this code?
Will a resistor work?
Thanks,
Greg

Don't know that a resistor will work. You could try, but I'm going to guess you will need to duplicate what the original schematic shows (relay and fused power). Or you can just have the trouble code programmed out.
