Code 18 crank senso open/ no signal
Hi , I have just recently got a 94 z28 and was pulling codes found code 18 for the crank sensor, the vehicle runs good, however intermitently will have a long crank time.
Is this a bad opti?? (replaced at dealer 'bout a year ago)
anyone have a diag proceedure??

DTC 18 Injector circuit(s)
There is no separate crank sensor on a 1994.
You need to check the fuses and wiring to your injectors and check their resistance, if needed.

thats interesting because my snap on scanner states it is the crank sensor no signal/ open ... where can I find a dtc list and complete wiring diagrams (web)???

Changing the injectors does not mean you have to to anything to the MAF. Some reprogramming for the different injectors would be good, though.
A link to the DTCs is right in my sig.

The first thing you want to do is reset it and see if it returns. Check the 2 fuses. Now pop the connectors off the injectors one at a time and then replace them until you find one that does not change the idle quality. If that happens measure the resistance of the injector to be sure it is not lower than 11.6 ohms and is also not open either. Then check the signal with a noid light.
If you need it, I can scan and email the injector circuit schematic to you cause I think the internet source of diagrams has dried up.
