Question Clunking on downshift?

Hey fellas. I've only owned this car for a few days now, and have noticed that at times on a downshift (m6) I can hear a slight clunk or even like a sandpaper sound. This only seems to happen if I don't match the revs 100% or give it a bit of gas. It can also happen if I don't match the revs on an upshift, but it's not as common. I just noticed it tonight, and am just wondering if this is normal. My father told me that it's normal, and is just the clutch engaging rapidly (ie: on the downshift with a bit of gas). Anyone's opinion on this matter would be greatly appreciated, as it's bothering me quite a bit. Thanks.

Borg Warner tranys are great, arnt they. Yeah you do have to match the revs, and they are very picky about how shift, it has to be damn near perfect for it to be perfectly smooth.
