clearance issues

I have a lt-1 motor with a set of trick flow heads on it also I have a set of 1.6 roller rockers. the problem that I have is that I purchased a set of aftermarket tall valve covers and now I am having problems putting the alternator on. The valve covers seem to be about an inch to an inch and a half to long. has anybody else run into this problem??????

can I run a set of tall vavle covers or is there a set of specific covers that I need to run????

please any help would be greatly appritiated!!!!

Canton makes a set but they are pricey.

Re: clearance issues

- There are alternator relcation kits that may help you.
- Canton valve covers work, but like LR said, they're pricey.
- Here's always the good ol "hammer mod" *LOL* if you are careful.

What kind of valve covers did you get?
You may be able to have them altered at a shop.

I ran stock covers over promags with 7.15" pushrods;
I had to use a set of thick SBC gaskets to get them to clear the locks.

Re: clearance issues

you can run the stock valve covers, you just have to cut out the cross part of the cross braceing. thats what i did anyway

Re: clearance issues

well I guess that is what I am going to do I just cut everything out of the valve covers cleaned up the sleeves that were in there and I will tack weld them in upside down so I wont have a chance of crushing the covers but thanks for your help with this issue
