Question Okay guys, help me pick out what springs to get...

Here's the deal...

I just picked up a 2002 SS. It does not have the SLP level II suspension, but from what I gather, there is indeed a suspension difference between the SS and the Z28 (someone correct me if I am wrong). Anyway, I want to reduce the gap in the wheel wells and to accent the Simmons wheels I am going to put on it very soon (17x9 in front, 17x 10.5 in rear). I have a set of Bilstein shocks ready to put on, and I need to pick out the best springs to put on the car with the shocks.

I want a nice stance, but not too low. I want handling improvement but a semi-decent ride. I would like to go to long tube headers in the future so I need to be concerend with clearance issues with that.
So, which springs should I go with? Any advice? Thanks in advance!

Hey Jason,
Congrats on the SS...and welcome to the SS family . Anyhow, hit me up with an email on our springs. I think they're perfect for what you are looking for. We've sold through a few batches already and everyone loves them. They are progressive rates and lower on avg. 1.3" and provide killer ride characteristics. Ask away and i"ll be happy to answer your questions.

Hey what color did you get?

This is my 2nd Camaro, and my 2nd 4th gen SS. My first one was a '96 with a level II suspension (just sold it, too much project, too little time and money ).

Cool, man. Sounds great! I'll give you a shout as soon as I can. I'll try to call and if I can't get through, I'll e-mail. Thanks!

Jason, I can tell you springs not to go with: Eibach Sportlines. They offer a 2 inch drop. Waaaaaaaay to much.

The ride looks okay (not pics yet), but I rub EVERYWHERE!! You will not be happy with longs and this combo. Granted, I have the stock 16 inch rims, so an upgrade to 17, or 18's would help, but I can't afford that right now.

...other then that, they ride good, and stopping is much better. None of that nose dive dig when you hit the brakes. Or when you come to a stop, the car doesn't settle - it just stays flat. Very nice.

I would suggest an inch drop...or close to that if you plan on long tubes. I may switch to something like that when I get around to it.

Milo.

Congrats on the ss and welcome. I have an ss too and currently have a 1.4 eibach prokit. I used to have a 1.6 sportline kit and I had to change it. The ride was really rough and in Miami every road in under contruction. So basically that sucks but the ride now is great and looks amazing.
