I recently changed from the comp cams 3 peice hardened steel pushrods to the CM trickflows and notices a little valvetrain noise go away. I initially did the change because I bent a few Pushrods and didnt want to risk that again. The old pushrods I took out after inspection revealed that almost all of them that a slight bow to them , it was unnoticable unless I rolled them on a flat surface. My spring pressure open is a little over 430 #s open and 165 #s closed. The Comp hardened steel ones worked fine with my previous springs for years (I did buy a new set though when I went to the nes springs to be safe). The bent pushrods had a little over 2000 miles on them. I think the valvetrain noise was from the pushrods flexing and rubbing in a few places.

You'll do fine with the comp steel 3 peice hardened ones, as long as you keep your open spring pressure at 350 or less.

Your probably thinking about welded chrome-moly components like a-arms. There was some talk in this forum on that some time ago. Chrome-moly structures are as good as their welds.

Those of you running guideplates, make sure you get hardened PR's.

So with a 236-242 cam, stroker, 1.6 rr's, and the fact I broke two pushrods last weekend, and bent/broke three last season, what should I order overnight for this weekends race?
