cc305 question

i just bought a cc305 and wanted to know if i should wait for the summer to install or install right now?
the problem is i drive about 250 miles bi-weekly nonstop. what mpg should i be expecting and will driving these many miles on a regular basis hurt my engine with this cam. after this summer i will not be putting these many miles on the car.
any help will be appreciated.

This isnt a radical cam. I have it, and i get like 19 mpg when the car is running right. Just get a good tune from madz28.com. He is excellent. You will be fine as an everyday driver with this cam

With my M6 and 3.42s I get around 20 mpg on the highway, down from about 26 on the highway. My city mileage went from 18 mpg to 13-14 mpg.

28mpg on the highway with that cam and stock heads, full exhaust.
In town felt the same as stock.

Was it worth the install then if it was about the same around town?? Did it help much with power?

Also, was that with headers or manifolds?

18 MPG with an A4 and 4.10 gears, before I switched to a non-lockup converter.

It went a 12.2 @ 111MPH on a Friday night and then I took it for a 60 mile round trip the following Sunday with an average of 18 MPG without changing anything.

With a M6 and 3.42 Im getting about 24-25 mpg on a stock tune with mid-lengths and ported heads. As for around town power this cam is way stronger than stock down low, no traction on street tires until 50-65 mph Past 3500 rpm's is where the 305 comes on really strong, you wont be disappointed when the mid and topend hits. I also drive my car up to 75 miles a day to work.
Later,
Josh

road trip from ohio to florida showed 28mpg on the highway for me..
It was worth the extra power. A cam and long tubes are very noticeable. I gained 2mph (around 20horses) when i switch from Shorties to Long tubes with that cc305 cam..
3500 and up is when it comes alive.. i reved it to 6300rpms. Anything above 6300rpms with that cam didnt look good on the dyno.

But i went back and ported the heads and stuck a bigger cam in. If u got the cash get the heads ported now and do the cam install at the same time.
