If you pulled the code, its would probably make it easier to figure out

you cant blink the check engine light on a 94 car, it has to be scanned with a real scanner like a snap on or something.

you will probably have to take it to like a goodyear store or something, there cheap enough and should still have the right scanner to tell you the codes.

1993 is the only 4th gen that you can blink the light on, i had that scanner that blinks the light too and i learned on here that you cant use it, it could possibly cause pcm problems, anyways, i got mine scanned and it worked fine.

if the guy down the street was able to get a code from it then there is no broken wires, on a obd1 car there is only four wires that the scanner uses and they are

1. battery power

2. ground

3. pcm trigger

4. data serial wire

if any of those were bad it would not give anything.

A reading of -40degF = infinite resistance = an open circuit. As he said, could be a bad wire (or harness connector off the sensor) or faulty sensor.

At least he got that part right. You can NOT flash the codes on a 94, as at least two people here have told you .
