Degreed Cam, ITS OFF, Now What?

I went ahead today and degreed my camshaft, and it is off. It is off by two degrees. How do I go about correcting this now? Please fill me in guys!

If it is really off, you should send it back. You better be sure you did your degreeing right, though.

I checked the degreeing roughly 12-15 times. They all came up 108.. According to my research, it doesnt look like its that far off. Its suppose to be installed on a 106

I tried to check my cam when I installed it, but could only estimate it
within +-1*. This was in the car with a degree wheel and a piston stop
because the heads were still on. No matter how many times I tried it
I could not get an exact measurement. Just too much play in the whole
system, not to mention the coat hanger pointer. I finally gave up. At least
I know it's very close.

just go ahead and run it. 108 vs 106 isnt going to do much of anything unless you're building a race engine or running on the very edge of pump gas.

I, for the life of me, do not understand why people are so hesitant to 'degree in' their cam installs, especially, after all that I've posted here, in the past. In regards to being subject to combined component tolerances, the LTx engine is no different than any other SBC, from oh.... 1955 maybe?

I know this is off subject but I tried to buy pistons from a guy. The pistons were .030 over 5.7 rod 383 pistons (SBC) nothing special 12cc dish run of the mill ring widths.

" Oh those won't work with the LT1, you'll need to buy these other pistons for that "(150$ more.).

Finally got back!

Yeah it's one of those ones where if you change the ICL -2 it's going to cause some issues ;-)
