Can't get fuel filter on all the way.

I? just changed my fuel filter with a fram one. I have been trying my hardest to tighten it but there are two threads left and i rounded out my filter. Is it safe to drive like that? It's on really tight, and its not leaking as of now (not pressurized yet). Is that tight enough? I really don't remember how tight the previous one was on. I don't know how i can get it on tighter because i rounded the filter off and i dont want to break the metal line.

Im carrying two fire extinguishers with me for the next few days just in case (got em free from parents' work because they can't be used after 2 years by code or something like that, but they havent been used).

On flare nut fittings, there are usually always threads showing when it is tight. You were probably trying to over-tighten it.

yea, there's going to be threads showing (it is about 2-3 iirc)
just make sure it's snug and you're good to go

i agree with what was stated above.

and on that note, go buy a new filter, remove the rounded one now before it gets any harder to remove. while at the store buy a "flare nut wrench" it will prevent you from rounding them off.

if you have the money, go ahead and get a flare nut wrench
it's not needed and i don't use it, but i suppose it would make it easier

If you started the car and it doesn't leak, it probably won't start leaking..
BTW shoebox HAS a Paypal link on the site..
