how can i make about 400 to the wheels

I just got a lt1 out of a 95 vette what can i do to it since it is out, to make about 400 rwhp. I was looking at the heads and cam package at advanced induction and they are saying that the certain heads and cam package are making around that much power. so i am wondering if it is true or not... and if im makeing that much power will it be safe? or if anyone has any ideas for me please reply.

thanks
bobby

What are you putting it in...what are you going to do with it(drag, road race?) and is it a daily driver or will it be and what is your budget. Are you going to do the work yourself, and do you want that h/p to be n/a, all motor or without forced induction?

See my sig. If you went with a bigger cam and bigger roller rockers, you might be there!! I only have 1.52RR. Perhaps a cc306 cam and 1.6RR might get you there, but I cant' really say!
Good luck!

You do realize what this will cost. That being said, the motor you have is a good one to start with. So you don't want to spray it, and you' going to "throw" the topend on yourself meaning what heads and intake?

Nitrous lots of Nitrous

I am a transplanter too
do my mods without N20 and you will be close or DO no mods and get a ported N20 setup and be happy

Either a LE or AI head and cam package with a good exhaust and intake and supporting bolt on's should put you there if not higher.

Welcome to the redundant office of redundancy.

LOL

As far as 400rwhp, that would be better than low 12s high 11s in a 3rd gen, provided it hooks. I would just suggest getting some ported heads, and paying to have a custom cam spec'd for your setup. LE has his packages, and they are excellent quality/power for what you pay. I would think an LE2 stock shortblock car in a 3rd gen would be more than enough for your goals.

I agree the 3rd gens are lighter. A le2 stock shortblock in a 3rd gen with the right supporting bolts ons/suspension/tuning/gears/etc should see 10's.

Yea, Yea, I know I should read before I post but some people do not understand what naturally aspirated means. That is why I included the forced induction thing sorry

I like the idea of going w/ the custom route (they usually have a flatter tq curve from what I've heard), but if you don't then go with....

Comp Cam 306 w/ 1.6 Pro Mag roller rocker arms
Lloyd Elliot heads
Long tube headers
Hooker 3" catback
K&N Cold Air Induction
a PCM tune for the mods
and all the misc bolt ons should net you 400 rwhp pretty comfortably.

What a beast in a 3rd gen!!
