cant figure out this miss!

i had my plugs/wires changed about 6 weeks ago. i went with TR6s gapped to .040 because i was planning on using nitrous. as soon as i left, the car felt sluggish. later on that night the car backfired so i babied it home. it continued feeling sluggish, i installed a digital 6+, still didnt feel right. sold the digital 6+ because i figured it was causing problems, didnt help at all. i changed my opti to a brand new delco unit, same problem. figured it was the coil, changed to a blaster GM unit, still missing. i am just baffled! i pulled the plug from cylinder 2, it had raw fuel built up on it. my plug wires dont seem burnt in any places. im using new 8.5mm MSD super conductor wires. i am about to go check to make sure they are not put on in the wrong order but the chances of that are slim considering weve had them off twice and have had the same problem afterwards both times.

the car feels like it is running on 8 cylinders, then backs off to 7 then back to 8 and over and over again. it surges hard enough to make the car jerk when you drive it. 4, 6, and 8's wires touch because they are routed behind the alternator, but i figure theyre 8.5mm wires they shouldnt arc, let alone bad enough to make my car darn near undriveable! any help would greatly be appreciated, im supposed to get my gear installed tuesday and would like to be able to play with it some

thanks guys

ttt, checked plug wire organization, seemed fine. cylinder 8's plug wire has a small nick near the opti-boot that is exposing the fibers inside the wire. gonna try replacing that with a stock wire and see if it helps.

need suggestions!

Omg i think were both having the same problem.heres my story.changed opti,300+ ignition.300+ wires.tr55 accel 300+ coil.number 8 wire burnt up the other week and i changed it to a wire i got at pep boys that clears the header now.it was ok for a day or so then it seems when it warms up a little bit it just misses bad.when it shifts into a high gear and teh rpm drop the car vibrates crazy.i dunno what it could be.all my plugs are changed to the tr55 except 6+8.and the wire that i put on at 8 is 7mm opposed to the 300+ wires which are 8mm,but that wouldnt cause my problem.i duno im gonna try to see which cylinder is missing and just work from there.if i cant figure it out im sure a shop with a computer can.im not throwing any codes r u?
