Can a arching plug wire cause the plug to foul?

Probably a stupid question, but I had a burnt wire #5 that was arching against the block. I put an old one on just till my Elite OTVC wires come in, but halfway to work the morning I can tell another wire is arching(probably the same one). So Im just wondering if driving the car like that will cause the plug to go bad.

I don't know about causing the plug to foul but when my car had a plug wire not seated on the plug just right it had a bad miss and set a "check engine" light.

Won't hurt the plug, but will hurt the opti if the spark has nowhere to go. It will back up in the opti and cause carbon tracking in the cap.

If its arcing out to the block and the plug isn't firing then yes the plug will get fouled by the fuel not being burnt everytime that cylinder is supposed to fire. Most plugs will be okay after they dry out but some are junk.
