Camaro engine swap

I have a 1991 Camaro RS with a 305 engine and want to swap it with LT1 or 350 engine. I live in California so it has to pass smog. Can this be done and with what adjustments?

I'm sure it can be done. LT1s pass smog in stock form

so, u could just swap everything over out of a LT1 car, and it'd probably pass

I have a 305 in a RS now, so what would I have to swap besides the engine to get it to pass smog? A shop is doing the work, so they won't warranty the labor on any parts that I supply.

you'd have to swap the headers, smog and air pump, that should be about it. If u want more power, u can get some MAC midlength headers that are smog compliant, and a catted-ypipe with a cat-back.

Can a 350 engine be modified to be as high in hp and torque as a LT1?
It would be much easier to use the 350 to pass smog.

yes. My friend has a truck w/ an old carbed 350 that puts out a lot more power than my LT1. Older 350s are cheaper and easier to work on too

So what would I have to modify on the 350 to get it up to the LT1's performance and still have it pass smog?

IDK about passing smog in a carburated setup.

The 350 would be a 1991 so it would have fuel injection, not a carb. Are a new fuel injection, ecm and headers be something I could add after the install and still have it pass smog in CA.

If the parts you buy have CARB stickers, then you should be good to go in California.
