Will a 3.73 kill my MPH, maybe a tad. It will kill the ET, but its not going to kill the mph much.
You put gears into a car to launch it and ET, not for the MPH, but im only going 1.6 60' on "easy" clutch drop laucnhes and trapping 115 and some change. Wait, i only dynoed 357

oh wait al corda is classed in the 350 range and he runs 9.97 so your point is mute..setup is everything..rwhp is great if the rest of the car is setup to utilize it in the most efficient way...since I'm not james loan officer I can only suggest what he needs ,its up to him to save up or whatever to get those parts that would help him get the use out the power its making ...... your mph drop a tad???? well if a tad is 2.8mph ..there is james 120 mph
nuff said and whos to say it wont with a real tire on the car

You and I will never agree, for right now, i will leave it at that. You can compare a cars set up so drastically different (in reference to the 9.97 cars and my car weighing 3700 with me or whatever it does. BTW, by a tad i meant tenths of mph, not 3 whole mph
Wish the owner of the car the best of luck and hope he is happy with his car. g'night

Tell James nice times (from the guy that bought his stock heads)
All the nah say seems to be coming from guys running manuals. They seem to think lanching an auto is cake. When you throw in a loose converter and a 2.5 str too boot, things change a just little. You will also Sacrifice the said mph. Down low you have almost 2.5 times the torque and up top you are fighing slipage.

altjar your right this could go on and on..but 1/10's mph is B/S and you know it ..4.30's to 3.73's is alot more than that so back to questions and quick tryin to get off the hook. tire ,trapping rpm? shoes on the other foot....stock heads getting lil fishy in your sig...last time i checked james had stock heads also..

Tires, rpms, what difference does that make on my car? 26/11.5/16 et streets, and 6400ish.
The heads have never been off my car. Stock head gaskets, stock valves, stock valve job, stock ports. Havent been touched. Really not my fault you cant make a lightweight heads and overpriced CUSTOM cam (which you likely just use same grind over and over again, who would know?) car perform much better than a full weight stock headed off the shelf cam car. Dyno results can be manipulated, track times dont lie. Good thing you went back to your day job.

Things looking pretty even if you ask me as far as gearing goes. You want me to run 373s, well lets see what your 420 rwhp beast does with 323s, lol.

Later this year I'm throwing up a vid of a Joe O. cammed car running down the 1/4 whenever my friend gets it to the track. If Joe notices my location, he'll know who I'm talking about.
It should take a lot of doubt away with visual proof(not sure if a Joe O. cammed car has ever had a vid posted).
Man, my car only made a smidge over 400 rwhp and was under geared and it went 11.41 at 119.5 the very first time to the trach. Hell, first pass was 11.55.
And for ****s and giggles, my bro's hotcam car made 363 to the wheels and went 115 mph 4 years ago. I'd expect more than 116 mph from a car with 420 to the wheels even if it was under tired/geared......

Auto vs M6.....can't compare fairly
in reality auto cars also come with 3.23 gears,so not a huge leap going to 3.73's.my car saw less then a 2/10 gain with a gear swap from 3.23 to 3.73.
what's the fascination with a dynojet? since when do HP numbers win races? since when does MPH win races?
Dyno's are only TOOLS,and sae corrected numbers are sae corrected numbers, doesnt matter what dyno they came from, why not put YOUR car on a Mustang Dyno to get a reading that is more in touch with reality,or would the lower hp numbers depress you?
good to see some of you are also still hung up on the "custom" cam,i guess you really cant get over the fact that someone withholds info, must make for a stressful life.
you keep claiming "it should run this, should run that" but all you have is some shallow basis as to thinking 420rwhp should automatically equal a certian mph.yes 6 speed cars will trap higher, anyone with 1/2 a brain knows that.
I already proved your xhp=xmph to mean nothing in my first post, explain how a 3580lb car is gonna run 151+ while dyno'ing UNDER 730rwhp,and it had a lousy 60' of a 1.46.

this board friggin kills me.
"derrrrrr......i think that he should trap higher, because my benchracer program tells me so"
why don you guys post YOUR heads/cam only car thats running 11.6 or lower.
not some guy you read about.....YOURS.
track numbers are representative of how well an entire package is setup.
altjar, you should know this, since your car has every single friggin mod known to man to get the times that you run.
the level of ignorance in this thread is too much to handle.
