Glad to hear that it is ok for now. Since your opti was exposed to water/coolant, the internals will degrade faster than normal due to corrosion. You should start shopping and saving for a new opti now, so that you will have it handy when the current opti gives up. A new timing chain is good insurance too.

Guys! Put some towels under any hoses you remove above the opti! Opti + coolant = trouble!

I don't think the hair dryer will do much good on a non vented opti on a 93 if it really got soaked. If it goes away completely- great! If not, you probably dripped enuff to mess up the opti. Any liquid is the Opti's enemy.
Water=Optispark / Kryptonite=Superman.

If you end up replacing a bad optispark, I would advise the upgrade to a 95-97 vacuum vented opti is the way to go. the venting pulls moisture out of the distributor. The only bad thing about the upgrade is it requires a 95-97 cam unless there is some kind of adapter for the cam dowel that drives the opti.

Good Luck!
