Burnt plug wire
Burnt plug wire
This may sound crazy but this is the third time that I have a burnt plug wire. Same one, drivers side next to the fire wall. There is no room, its way to close to the mantifold. How the F.%$# can I stop this.

Re: Burnt plug wire
I'm guessing you're talking about #7 ? You using a 90* boot? Is it ran through the channel against the block ? I found it's easier to run the wire through if you loosen the (2?)bolts holding the channel on. I used MSD wire covering. It comes in a roll that you cut to proper length and heat shrink sleeves around the ends. I paid like $30 for the roll and had left over. When I took a spare piece of it and an old 8.8 accell wire and burnt it with a torch type lighter, it barely made the wire brown and only discolored the fabric.
GOOD STUFF !
Re: Burnt plug wire
I used one of those secure ties that you pull the thing through the loop and then the only way to get it off is to cut it. Anyhow, I fastened it away from the oil fill tube and the header and it didnt burn yet.
Without the ties, I burnt 2 wires.

Sorry, couldn't resist. He's on the driver's side where there's really nothing to zip tie(cable tie) to.
