Re: BOLTON+CAM guys...w/stock heads...post your MPH/dyno

13.12 @107.38 with a 2.032 60' is my best with all the mods in sig N/A. Race weight was somewhere around 3750 pounds. I'm not sure what the D/A was, but it probably sucked. Most of the time in s**tty weather it runs 13.3's @ 105.5 or so. Keep in mind this is full street trim, nothing removed, junk in the back seats and hatch, just how I drive it in off the street. If I start removing s**t and messing with stuff my times don't mean s**t to me any more, so I just leave it alone. If I remember I MAY check to make sure there is something resembling 35 pounds of air in my tires, but that's it.

Car is finally running very good - we just removed the seats last night, and ABS unit will be off soon as well. Trying to dump some weight and patiently waiting for that -800 DA day that i'm hoping shows up again this year. With another 100lbs gone and much much better air i'm hoping for 11.25-11.35 or so. I think the car has it in there somewhere just have to hit the perfect day and get it to hook.

D42 is only open on the weekends now - Norwalk every weekend for 3 or 4 more weeks then it's done. I'm hoping to hit Norwalk in 2 weeks.

Put down 353rwhp/355rwtq on a Mustang MD-250 dyno, XE 233/239 cam, stock heads, all the bolt ons, M6 through a Strange 12 bolt.
That was with 35* spark advance at wot in Tunercat, (datamaster showed some 37-38*), 55*F outside, AFR set to 12.8 across the rpm range.
Have no real track times, before the dyno tune my car went 8.24@88mph in the 1/8m, race weight is 3638lbs with me in it.

I will throw my site together very soon, so stay tuned, you'll be able to find the dyno graphs there.

Keep the numbers coming, it's a great thread!

Re: BOLTON+CAM guys...w/stock heads...post your MPH/dyno

I was at the local track (Thunder Valley, OK) last Sunday for test-n-tune and have some new best times to post for my 97 Z28 auto (see previous post, this thread). Again, I've got stock heads and bottom end, with basically the Hot Cam, headers, gears and a "new" stall converter (Vigilante 9.5" 3200). The new Vigilante converter was the reason for the trip to the track, as I had determined my old TCI 2600 flash was too small and wanted to check-out the new Vigilante.

I'm very happy with these new times!

60 ft: 1.713
1/8: 7.887 @ 86.18
1/4: 12.443 @ 110.13

The new Vigilante gave me almost 3 tenths better ET (previous best 12.68). And, the track prep wasn't that good (it kept breaking loose through 1st and most of 2nd gear). I think it would have gone into the 12.30s if the track had been better (too many oil downs that day from junkers).

Hey-

94 Z28, Hotcam Kit, Edelbrock Shorties, 2OTL exhaust, Mad Z28 tune, FIPK, 52MM TB - 321 RWHP / 330 RWTQ.

My track times stink, not worth mentioning, but trap @ 104.

Good Luck!

Re: BOLTON+CAM guys...w/stock heads...post your MPH/dyno

GOT A FEW DIFFERENT SETUP TIMES FOR YOU GUYS

1)94Z auto full weight down to the A/C and rear seats. stock long block, hotcam kit, 58mm tb., shortie edelbrocks and cutout. 2800 vigi, performance build 4l60, 3.42's, and typical bolt ons to go with it. 12.39@108 on ET streets. dead hook. don't have 60's on that. it was a friends run from a couple years back. i believe that car layed down around 340hp to the wheels. not sure though.
2) 96 T/A. 6 spd. stock long block. cc306, long tubes and true duals, spec stage 3 clutch, 4.10's on 10 bolt, every bolt on possible and basic suspension traction mods. 12.10@113. don't know that 60' either as it was another person i watched a lot. no clue on the dyno numbers.
3) my 94 Z 6 spd. 3.73's, Clutchnet 6 puck. stock heads, forged 357 shortblock. don't have any times or dyno numbers but i ran dead even with a vette that trapped 115. this was from a roll, but it should be solid 112-115 traps on a good run. it's a Bauer cam. 230/236 XE custom grind on a 109lsa with lift numbers i'm not suppost to share out of courtesy. cam is large, but makes very good low end and great top end. Supposedly more streetable than a cc306. very seriously, the power range is 3000-6500. on other test cars with this same cam, it's made around 350 rwhp on a completely stock motor down to the tb and gaskets. only mods being exhaust. It peaked 300rwhp on one test car at around 4400 rpm and went up from there. I'm hearing the torque numbers are equal to hp numbers from other owners. with a basic tune over my laptop (decently rich) it didn't seem to do too bad on gas although i never checked officially. A little surge down low, but again i didn't have a good tune on it. my motor had a fight with antifreeze lately so hopefully i cac rebuild it and get it tested and tuned for next spring. 'will post numbers and times then.
