Stockheads Crane 210/224 automatic car 116.56 light weight car ,baby cam. Crane 220/230 6 speed ,stockheads 118 heavier car bigger cam. many ways to do it. I would run faster than 116.5 but I'm getting to the finish to quick to make mph Frank95z

Just dyno'd
329 rwhp
Best time 12.95 @ 105 with Vigilante 1.85 60'

I lost 10rwhp with the Vig & also lost 2-4mph.
My best time with 4.10's and no vig was 13.0 @109mph

I'm still having pretty big traction problems. I'm sure with some ET streets .2 more off shouldn't be a problem. I got better traction with 4.10's and no stall!

Prior to my winter head project, my CC306/stock heads car was 336 RWHP. Best run was 12.47 @ 114.

this is from my last car, but my current one is taken apart going for bigger numbers.

94z, 110k miles
STOCK engine from the TB gasket to the exhaust gaskets
52mm BBK TB
Granatelli MAF
K&N CAI and filter
Free mods
MAC mids
Full MAC exhaust with ORP
Cutout
MSD 6AL & Coil
LT4 KM
Neal 2800 converter
3.73 gears
Nitto 555DR
G2 LCAs
G2 Panhard
ES trans mount
My own PCM tuning (edited for open loop)

notice.. no cam, no heads, no engine work AT ALL. The car dyno'd 285 rwhp, but I probably could have gotten a few more as I got a little knock retard on the dyno pull. When I uncorked the cutout I LOST 8HP! what do you think about that?
here is my time slip:
http://www.sixtyninecamaro.com/image...4/timeslip.JPG (run with cutout open and into a 15mph headwind)

In case you can't read it... thats a 1.768 60' 12.75 @ 108.48

I think the car would have gone mid 12s...

That would be me.

So, if the stock LT1 camshaft (with 163K miles) counts, the numbers in the sig are my car's best.

I never noticed that 115mph on Saint's time!! DAMN!! Kill that 60' and you'll be low in the 12s!! What rear gear are you running? I'm stock 3.42s and I'm giving the stock 10 bolt 4000-4500 RPM launches on ET streets. I think some 4.10s and 3K launches will help me out; if the 10 bolt can handle it.

I don't have a cold air induction
and also dynoed with my 17inch chormes that weigh 45 pounds a piece with tires on.
318 rwhp and 332 rwtq

Just started on my cylinder head port and polish, I have one head done. I'm hoping to get into 340rwhp after it's finished. Also I'm going to build my own cold air induction.

I just want to know why people port there heads and but matched cams to them when all you have to do is to get 115 MPH is throw a cheap 306 cam in the car.

xxxsaint69x, some things are not adding up. Is that a G-tech time? A car weighing 3600 lbs running 115 MPH is going to be making around 380 rwhp. You post in your sig no real tuning, yet you follow up with you just need to know how to tune your car? Well, what is it. What did you tune it with? I know tuning software, no magical let's make 50-60 rwhp than I should button in it.

Take Grease's combo. It makes around 400 rwhp and runs 115-117 MPH weighing in around 3600 (could be more). He runs a decent set of ported heads that outflow a set of the best stock heads by a mile and a good cam. He has more bolt-ons than you, and they happen to be actual rwhp producing bolt-ons.

Yet, your there right with him? Come on, who you trying to kid. Why is there not dozens out of the hundreds of guys runninga 306 cam with similar mods not pulling those MPH's?

I've seen Saint's video; what more does he need to prove?

There's always the naysayer around these places. Some cars are just faster! Why was Russ Etheridge running 12.34 with headers, RRs, exhaust and CAI!? *****, he's got a pair, and he knows how to drive.

Look at Saint's 60' time...obviously there was a good bit of spin off the line - usually when I spin, I gain a mph or 2. It makes sense to me, that with a few more mods than me...he's only .2 ET-wise faster, but I'd damn sure expect him to have plenty MPH more than I do...and, he does - about 10 to be exact. He's just gotta nail that 60' down some and his ET will match what his MPH is. I think his case is all a matter of finding the traction sweet spot.

I'm sorry to say it, there's just a lot of people out there with fast cars that can't drive. I shake my head every time a head/cam car went down the track at or higher than my ET. It's sad really. Just because cars making good HP are making poor ETs doesn't mean a low HP car can't make good ETs.
