Blue Fel-Pro oil pan gasket help

I have the blue Fel-Pro oil pan gasket. I used Permatex 1B RTV on the corner joint like others suggested.

I pulled the oil pan back off to address an main stud issue and I noticed that the RTV does not stick to the blue gasket at all. The instructon state to not use RTV at all.

Is there a selant that works better with ths gasket or should I just skip the sealant all together.

I use the ROL gasket and I also use the grey permatex (import type) on the corners. works good

maybe try the grey permatex....I started using it a few years back and thats all I use now....works better than all the other stuff.

On the ford stuff I never use anything....I personally don't like the blue fel-pro stuff

Congrats on 1,000 posts, mdacton. Can you make a thread on all the common permatex products and maybe someone will make it a sticky?

I was thinking just the 5 most useful for our cars or something like that. Must have been an interesting class, though.

I use the blue Fel-pro gasket and it seals up very well on my car. I just put some RTV Ultra Black on the corners and torqued it. Then I let it sit about 2 days before pouring oil into the engine. Also, make sure you completely clean the mating surfaces since an oil residue will kill adhesion.

cork?
Hold on let me go outside..in the cold.... walk to the shop...get the part# and then I will post it.

Any sbc from 86-87 up will work.....This ROL brand gasket seems to me a higher quality. Once you use the fel pro once its done for.

I have used mine 4-5 times
