blowing blue smoke on new engine
blowing blue smoke on new engine
is this normal. do the rings have to get seated or is this a problem of too much fuel being dumped. i have le2 heads and 32 # injectors and 255lph pump with a pcmforless tune. the rings are molys along with forged pistons and rods all in a 355.
Re: blowing blue smoke on new engine
The most likely cause is the rings not being seated yet. Blue smoke means oil is getting into the combustion chambers. Let the motor get a few more miles on it and it should go away. If it doesnt eventually go away then the rings may not be gapped right. But most likely they just arent seated yet. Hope everything works out for u. Peace, Dustin.
Re: blowing blue smoke on new engine
If you have blue smoke then you have metal on metal contact. How is your oil pressure? Did you prime the motor prior to cranking it? Were the rings file fitted? I would look at all of these before I cranked it again so that you don't mess those good parts up!
