the 224 xe cam is also a good choice. it depends on how streetable you want your car to be, and how rough of an idle you want.

the problem with a big cam is that you need to rev the engine much higher to get it in its max power range. If you have stock heads, you more than likely have a stock bottom end. Anything higher then 6200-6400 on a stock consistently and you're gonna blow something. I would go with the xe224/230. Hotcam or CC305... preferably the 305

ex 224/230. Really good street/strip cam just a little bigger than the cc305.

Has good low end torque and pulls to about 6200.

Also if you want a little lope, this cam sounds really nice with good exhaust.

well, the bigger cam like the GM 847 has been proven to produce more power, but you need to take a look at what you are planning...are you going to have bone stock heads forever? How high are you willing to rev it? If your going to get heads eventually go with a big cam to begin with...if not, decide what you can live with as far as rough idle and RPM range, then get the biggest cam that fits your needs. Look at some dyno graphs for various cams and see which one is giving the most area under the curve (not necessarily the most peak power)

I know I said the CC305 earlier. But I think that XE224/230 is the best choice.

Power wise I would say ex224/230 puts out a little more than the Hot cam and cc305.

Times wise I have seen people on this board take all 3 of those cams in the low 12's.
