There are a few people running the LTCC and they say it is better then the opti, but I think that if youre not running a lot of power it is over kill. It will cost you about 6-700 for everything to get it running.

Well I'm just finishing up on my 383 stroker and I'm seriously looking at around 370 to 390 rwhp. Just wonder how much of a benefit it would be.

Where are you getting LS1 coils for $100? I thought that they cost more then that for a set of 8?

I'm sure that's a used price. Used wouldn't be my first choice.

I am currently running the LTCC box and think the setup is very sweet. I don't have anytime on the setup because I am waiting to have my car tuned. But what I will say is that at idle the car seems to run a whole lot better. The car also fires right up. I will post more info once I have my car dyno tuned.

If you are trying to fight ignition demons (by switching to the LTCC), it would be silly to buy used parts, IMO.

If you need an opti as well, you will be looking at $1,000 for parts. I have not priced new LS1 coils yet. I bet they are very expensive though (300ish).

I believe LS1 coils are around 25.00 a piece - brand new.

price from www.gmpartsdirect.com for a coil for a 98 camaro is $29.86 each, so, 8 x $29.86 is $ 238.88 , which doesn't include brackets , screws , ect.

i actually got ahold of 8 coils on the brackets with the harness attached for only $25 it sounded too good to be true but hell for only $25 even if half dont work i wouldnt be that upset and i was guaranteed they would all work or did so when they were taken off the car. but when you think about it.. LS1 coils should last 8x longer in theory than our coil because they only fire once/cylindar unlike ours which fires for all 8 every time. given that id guess one LS1 coil should last at least 150k miles.

Subtract the GM part-life-allowance and you get about 50k miles . I'm only half joking when I say that GM probably built some parts to break regularly.

IDOXLR8 - Not as bad as I thought, but still a pretty penny to build the system from the ground up.

It is not a 'kit' per se. You get the conversion module from BB, with the purchase of brkts., coils, correct plug wires, and misc. bolts and adaption labor being the responsibility of the purchaser. With coil on cover setup, user will need to put up with reduced oil fill access. BTW, the components listed are for a cover mounted setup. Depending on body style, you may prefer an alternate coil mounting site. It s not recommended to use/purchase the # 85241 wire set, being too short for most. Check and measure the wire length needed B4 ordering any wires. Do not trust the above meagnecor set to be adequate without prior measuring.

Those darn supra guys.

I personally find the LTCC setup to provide a smoother idle, with a slight improvement during cruise conditions. Expect the setup to be more dependable, with less potential problems in wet conditions compared to oem setup. This along with stronger high rpm/high cylinder pressure spark.

My first setup has been on a daily driver since last fall.
