Bad radiator cap!!!!!

Bad radiator cap!!!!!

My 96 z28 has been loosing water out of the overflow tank.I take it for a drive and the next thing I know it starts to overheat and water exits the overflow tank.I think its the radiator cap what do you guys think?

They're really cheap so it's good to try that first. Take it to a shop and get them to put some pressure into the system and see what happens.

i'm having the same problem


except yesterday i went from class back home and it did it again...with a new radiator cap already on there.

Could also be a blown head gasket, clogged radiator or bad water pump. Just start checking them one by one. I always do the cheapest thing first. Unfortunately that usually isn't what the problem is. lol
