Re: Bad night at the strip

check your EGR.

IT IS YOUR EGR. I Just thought about it. If that gets stuck open it will cause your car to stumble and will throw codes. Try to move the valve with you hand. Better yet just remove it and clean it. It's right on the back of the intake. It has two 13mm bolts holding it on. Should take maybe 10minutes to do. The extra exhaust pressure is what caused this to stick open. It's your EGR.

Re: Bad night at the strip

If it isnt your EGR valve, Id suggest hooking up a fuel pressure guage, and see what your fuel pressure is doing when you floor it.

Re: Bad night at the strip

If your car is OBD1 wont you wont have to worry about it but you said you had rear 02s so you much have obd2. Ion from Madz28.com can do it or Brian from PCMforless.com can do it.

Re: Bad night at the strip

Opti! Opti! Opti!

When my original Opti failed, I could stomp the accelerator and it would
go up to about 3500rpm max.. If I gently pressed the accelerator I
could get it to rev to about 5000rpm. GM replaced the Opti under
warranty and all was well for about another 30K miles.
