Bad night at the strip

Well I went to the dragstrip tonight for the first time this year and my first run i redlight but cut a 13.876 @ 111.43 mph and the second run the lights drop befor i am fully staged. 3rd run i do my burnout and stage and when i leave the line all is fine but i get a lil wheelhop and then the car bogs bad. so bad that the car wont go over 50 mph. i cut a 27.395@49.26mph. i was afraid to try it again so we packed up and left. any one have anyidea what this could be the car ran fine almost all the way home . it did this one more time maby 500 ft out of the dragstrip drive way. i got down on it to see if it would do it and it stayed below 50 again. but if i dont get down on it and ease into the throttle the car is fine. if i ease on it runs great and if im over 50 and i get down on it its fine but if im under 50 and get down on it then i cant get over 50. please help. my mods include descreened maf. and k&n airfilter and thats it. the car has new plugs , wires, fuel filter, and a new opti (replaced 2 months ago) im lost guys so any help will be appreciated

Is it revving up and not shifting, or is it not revving up?

Traction control? I've never had it on any of my cars so I don't know how it works, just a thought.

Sound like your cat possibly clogged, supposing you have mine. Mine clogged when it broke apart, then i could go about like 3, then somehow the clogged piece turned back around again and i could, then i couldnt move at all. I cut the cat off and didnt have any problems. I dont know if you have a cat though.

TCS runs off of the ABS right? Pull the ABS relays, maybe there's a relay for TCS too. I dont have TCS, so i dont know, but i would try running without the ABS relays.

Re: Bad night at the strip

to turn the TCS off for good. pop the hood, take the black plastic cover off the TC motor. pull the plug! that's it. when u turn the car on your ABS INOP, and something else (cant think of it right now) they will show on your dash, but no biggie.

I was also going to bring that up. How could you possibly be trapping at 111 with a descreened maf and cai

Not on the number pad.

Anyway, sounds to me like your cats might be clogged. Check to see if the y-pipe/manifolds are glowing after it has ran for awhile.

The number pads are irrelevant, and I already said that shutup Your car will be noticably quieter too.

Re: Bad night at the strip

My time slip said 111 mph but it may be wrong my friend that was up there in his 91 z28 ran a 14.522 and his 1/4 mile speed said he was at 61 mph.

i am checking the cats tomorrow. well im removing them and welding in straight pipes. i hope this will fix it. now the more i think about it i seem to rember seeing the tcs light come on last night but will that really limit me to only 50 mph? any more ideas if this doesnt work?

This is my 1st camaro i used to be a dsm guy back in the day and im starting to wonder if my camaro wasnt made by diamond star motors. I heard that the opytical part of the opti spark was made by mitsubishi.
