The neutral drop quote i made was just a joke prompted by my friend Steve's comment a couple of messages up.My 1.49 60fts are done by leaving at 1000rpm,and a Vig3200. No tricks. Frank95z

i think that may be some of my problems. i always thought the higher you stalled it up the better but i haven't had much of an opportunity to play and the track. that should change in a few months.

Repeating once again i was just kidding about the nuetral starts.I have gotten a few e-mails with questions on how to do it. It was just a joke my car leaves the old fashion way bottomend power, sticky tires, and a good converter Frank95z 1.49 11.42 116.56 stockheads na Lt1 streetcar

Just think of all the kids who read that and went out and tried it. Nuetral, rev it to 5800, bounce off the rev limiter, then BAM, toss it in drive. Poor trannies

Back in the early 70's some of the Ford racing team Mustangs were doing nuetral drops. NHRA banned the practice. I tried it once at the track, the old transmissions had a lag between nuetral and drive. What you'd do is put in nuetral bring revs up a bit, move it down to drive and floor it at the same time. Not only did they DQ my run but wouldn't give me the timeslip for it Still not a practice I would recommend. Has any one of you while moving in reverse, droppped it down into Drive and punched it I've at one time been guilty of that also. Frank95z 11.42 116.56 with stockheads

I tell ya what....i don't care who's running the fastest. I'd say whoever can tell me why i can only run 13.5's with a 1.78 60' I'd say they are the best This thing just dies up top.

Props

as frank said below, going from reverse to drive.... i let a friend of mine drive my ta , i told him the only way to break the tires loose is to go from reverse to drive and floor it .... he half assed it and blew the trans mount ....it just hooked up real hard.
flooring it from r to d isn't too bad if you floor it

That is pretty impressive.
I have an almost identical setup in my 86 Trans Am. The goal for my car is to get a really high trap speed, I am not too concerned about the ET.
