damnit!

this bolt holding on the tq arm bracket is 15mm and i dont ahve a short 15mm socket. and a wrench wont fit

is it a rule that whenever you need to take a vital bolt out, you dont have the tools?

Need a shallow socket for that one.

At least you will get all the tools that are necessary to make this happen.

That will DEFINITELY not be the last time!!! I can't think how many times I "douched" my floor with coolant pulling the engine. Do yourself a favor before pulling the block. I think on the bottom of the block are coolant plugs, hopefully someone can confirm this. Take them out and drain all the coolant. If it's what I think they are.

Here's the times I can remember covering my floor pulling the engine:

1. Water Pump hoses
2. Hoses to the radiator
3. Water pump when I took it off
4. Front of the car was jacked up, FINALLY finished cleaning up the mess, then let the front down. WHOOOOOOOOOSH! a ****load more came out the front of the block that couldn't when the front was jacked
5. Pulling the engine spilled some.
6. On the engine stand when i turned it over Dumped it out everywhere.

Probably a couple more times that I can't remember right now, but get ready for a coolant MESS!!!!!!!!!

nah, its too much work to drain the block while its in the car. I did it while it was in doing heads/cam. got the knock sensor out, and pretty much rounded off the plug in the drivers side. So Im just gonna drain it when its out since the motor will be coming out level.

im almost ready to pull it out, just brake lines, undo a couple more wires, tq arm, ac, kmember bolts and thats it.

Does anyone have a picture of where exactly I am supposed to disconnect the brake lines from?

http://ken.lowrance.com/Projects/Hea...oveACDryer.jpg i dont need to remove all that do i? just remove the lines from the a/c compressor? are they on the back of it?

How about removing the ac line that goes to the condensor need the draincock of the radiator?

That's correct, If you are planning on keeping your A/C you don't have to remove Dryer piece. I did just to get it out of the way.

Now you can leave everything hooked up.

2MCHPSI - Quoted this "
The A/C compressor will have to be taken off with the lines hooked up. Let it hang, and fish it out of thwe way when lifting the body up. This is the way to go if you do not want to discharge and recharge the A/C. It is a little PITA though, but just be patient."

I discharged the system, some reasons where that I was not going to re-install the AC at all (Installing AC Delete Pulley) the other reasons were that I could get a fresh coat of paint in the engine compartment just less things in the way and to mask off.

winner, Not to seem like a d!ck cause i needed a little help with mine but come on figure some stuff out on your own. Once the booster nuts are off and you take the bolt out of the abs unit you can move it enough to get the lines by. If your lines are rounded off use vice grips.

Not sure what the size is, but you always want to use flare nut wrenches on brake/fuel lines.

ya, i tried all the standard flared that i have. 7/16 is too small, 1/2" is too big. so i broke out the regular metric wrenches, 11mm is too small, 12mm is a little bit to big and the one that i used to round it off partially, so im gonna get a 12mm flare and see if that works.
